Q & A with Medical Cannabis by Shoppers

1. How does your organization show leadership in sustainable environmental practices?

We were proud to be a recipient of the 2019 Environmental Impact Award at the GrowUp Conference.

Zenabis takes our environmental footprint very seriously. One of the sustainable initiatives we have is our award-winning Recycling Program.

Ensuring the responsible consumption of our products is integral to everything we do and as such we established a program allowing customers to responsibly dispose of any used cannabis packaging. The Namaste recycling program is now a nation-wide initiative which accepts all forms of packaging purchased from licensed retailers. We are passionate about promoting the environmental benefits of recycling which include preserving the earth’s resources, reducing landfill, ocean plastic, energy and carbon emissions.

2. What are the growing practices for your flower, and what kind of extraction methods do you use for your formulations?

Our growing and flowering practices focus primarily on maximization of the product quality (organoleptics and quantitative) while optimizing our product cannabinoid contents. This is achieved by optimizing and continually improving our cultivation practices, which is includes, but is not limited to:

  • Optimization of irrigation practices per strain

  • Maximization of plant health by daily routine inspections and hand pruning and defoliating each plant uniquely

  • Optimization of flower days of each strain and each harvest to maximize product quality

Extraction is performed using supercritical CO2, followed by a winterization process and distillation.
